Lorena De Medina-Salas has a doctorate in Projects, a doctorate of Science in Inorganic Chemistry, a Master's of Business Administration, and bachelor’s in Pharmaceutical Biological Chemistry at Universidad Veracruzana. She is a full-time professor at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and the Environmental Engineering Educational Program at Universidad Veracruzana campus Xalapa, at a bachelor’s degree level and postgraduate education. Member of the basic nucleus of the Master’s in the Quality Engineering Program and for the Specialization Program in Diagnosis and Environmental Management, also, a member of the nucleus of the consolidated research group "Gestión y políticas públicas ambientales” (Management and public environmental policies). She also has a distinction as a National Researcher Level I for the National System of Researchers in Mexico and a Desirable Profile for Programa para el Desarrollo Profesional Docente (PRODEP) (Program for Professional Docent Development). During her 24 years of experience at the academic level, she has led 44 postgraduate projects as well. She is a national and international lecturer at seminars related to municipal solid waste. She is author of 30 peer-reviewed scientific articles and 12 articles indexed in the Journal Citation Report. She is author of multiple chapters of nationally published books on environmental public policy as well as having been editor of a book on law and waste management.
